Other current exhibits:
Anthony Homquist is currently showing in the Periodicals Reading Room and outside the Beers Room (2nd floor) of the Library. His drawings, mixed media, prints, as well as the actual plates and wood blocks for making prints, demonstrate the stages of production of some of his work.
Along the wall next to the periodical collection are photographs on loan from the Adaptive Sports Association of Durango. The color photos highlight the impressive snowboard and ski activities of the community group.
The Animas Museum shares part of their collection in a display of education related artifacts from the area, including several antique typewriters, rare objects showing an amazing contrast to our current ubiquitous computer technology! Textbooks and a writing slate from the same period are on display, as well as photos from the high school yearbook staff, including, by complete coincidence, our own Barbara Howard's mother. The photographs and display cases of this exhibit are located on the 2nd floor outside the Irene Beer's Study Room.
