Vision
The John F. Reed Library strives to provide the best academic library services and collections in the Four Corners region.
Mission
The John F. Reed Library actively supports the educational and liberal arts mission of Fort Lewis College and encourages the use of information resources by the students, faculty, and staff of Fort Lewis College and residents of the Four Corners community.
Values
The Library seeks to provide guidance and leadership through identifying, acquiring, organizing and teaching the use of resources, both physical and electronic.
Through creating an environment for critical thought and inquiry, the Library cultivates intellectual freedom and provides opportunities for life-long learning and personal growth.
The Library seeks to work directly with faculty and departments to provide support for the curriculum and classroom learning.
The Library staff keeps apprised of emerging technologies and seeks to implement those that further the goals of the Library.
The Library endeavors to support the informational needs of patrons with disabilities.
The Library provides access to a variety of formats of materials including government documents, maps, sound and video recordings, as well as print and electronic books and journals.
The Library endeavors to further the development of its staff through the support of on-going training and professional development.
The Library commits to continuous evaluation of materials and services.
The Library provides a welcoming, safe environment for study and research.
